Valve has resolved a frustrating bug affecting its Steam Deck handheld console by releasing a new update for the Steam client. The issue caused some devices to get stuck in a boot loop and resulted in performance settings malfunctioning. The new update was rolled out to the stable channel of Steam Deck, despite earlier warnings from beta users about potential problems.
The issues began after the release of SteamOS version 3.6.24 for the Steam client. While this update was intended to address minor bugs, improve download performance, and fix issues related to DualSense controllers, users on Reddit and GitHub reported new problems such as devices being stuck in a boot loop and the disappearance of settings related to GPU clock speed and power consumption.
Valve responded quickly by announcing that a corrected version of the update was released on the same day. Furthermore, a separate update has also been released for the beta channel, addressing the same issues.
